Local Moving Insurance

Professional movers are trained to take care to avoid losing or damaging any of your belongings. However, accidents do happen and occasionally moves run into snags. For that reason, you should know what our mover’s liability is in case anything is lost or damaged during your move to your new home.
The Bill of Lading is your contract for the move and the valuation statement on it determines the movers’ liability.
There are two types of liability coverage offered by 24 Moving:
-
Limited Liability—this is your minimum coverage and ours is set at $0.60 per pound. So if any of your belongings are damaged or lost in the move, you would be paid $0.60 per pound. This covers basic liability and it’s not substantial protection.
-
Insurance policy—For items that are high value such as antiques or expensive items, you should think about buying a separate insurance policy that gives you much more coverage. First, though, check with your homeowners insurance agent and find out if your belongings are covered while you move.
